Kirsten is a consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist and has obtained both her Medical degree and a Post-graduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology from the University of Otago. Subsequent to these accomplishments she embarked upon her Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialist training and completed this in 2014 upon being awarded her Fellowship (FRANZCOG). She has a special interest in complex obstetrics and completed an 18 month Fellowship (Mater Mothers Hospital, Brisbane) in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Whilst in Brisbane Kirsten also completed the highly complementary DDU (a post-graduate Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound). These qualifications are unique to Hawke’s Bay, where she returned in 2015 with her family to take up the role of general Obstetrician/Gynaecology consultant with the DHB. In her work at Hastings Hospital Kirsten provides care in all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Obstetric interests and expertise are outlined above and areas of interest in gynaecology include pre-conception counselling, fertility assessment and the management of heavy periods. In addition to expert pre-conception advice and ante-natal consultations Kirsten also offers professional care and services for general gynaecological problems. It is her vision to offer full pregnancy and obstetric care (including delivery and post-delivery) as the Practice evolves. In partnership with colleague Dr Elaine White Kirsten is excited about their brand new clinic ‘All Women’ and the new possibilities it creates for Women’s healthcare in Hawke’s Bay.

Elaine graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1999 and after 2 years as a junior doctor she commenced the Obstetric and Gynaecology training programme in 2001. During the advanced stages of this programme Elaine developed specialised surgical skills in both laparoscopic (key-hole surgery) and hysteroscopic (visualisation of the uterus) procedures, both of which are fundamental to current gynaecological diagnosis and treatment. Having fulfilled all the comprehensive requirements of the training programme Elaine was awarded her Certificate of Completion in 2009 and began her Consultant career in Northumbria, England where she worked until 2015. In 2015 Elaine and her family moved to Hawke’s Bay where she took up a position as a Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist at Hastings Hospital. In addition to her broad experience in general obstetrics Elaine has a special interest and considerable expertise in numerous aspects of gynaecological practice and is passionate about her role in advancing Women’s health. The scope of her professional experience is such that she is able to address gynaecological concerns for women (in addition to children and adolescents) of all ages. Elaine offers women assessment, advice and treatment for problems with periods, endometriosis, menopause, abnormal smears, vulval concerns and genital prolapse alongside many other services including investigative procedures and surgery when required. In regards to other services Elaine offers, one of the most crucial is the diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological cancers and Elaine also works within this field as a board member of Faster Cancer Treatment Programme which was developed in 2012 to improve the quality and timeliness of services provided to cancer patients. Elaine contributes to this programme at both a local and a national level. In partnership with colleague Dr Kirsten Gaerty she is delighted to form the new and unique ‘All Women’ clinic and looks forward to welcoming new patients and raising the bar for Women’s Health-care in Hawke’s Bay.

Ella studied Medicine at the University of Cardiff in Wales during which she also achieved an intercalated BSc(Hons) in Exercise Physiology, including multiple Masters modules. Since graduating, Ella has worked in several training posts across Wales before moving to New Zealand. After having her eldest son, Ella decided to work as a GP to enable more flexible working for a better family life. For this she gained further experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and completed the Postgraduate Certificate in O&G. Within her GP practice she has found women’s health to be an area she enjoys and has seen a large volume of patients with an increasing demand from women to see a female doctor for women’s health issues, especially for long-acting contraceptive procedures. Ella has a warm and friendly manner while being a thorough and knowledgeable GP which makes her popular with patients. Ella also has postgraduate qualifications in Paediatrics and Skin Cancer Medicine. Outside of medicine Ella spends her time with her family and friends, often at the beach. She is a keen musician and sports player, enjoying all sports, especially squash and tennis. She also has instructor qualifications in SCUBA diving, surfing and skiing. Ella is excited to be part of the team at ThreeTen Clinic and wishes to enable every woman in Hawke’s Bay to have the opportunity to see a female GP about their women’s health concerns. She also offers general consults to those women whilst they are awaiting enrolment with a GP and those who are unable to enrol with a GP in Hawke’s Bay, whether due to visa status or temporary working in Hawke’s Bay.
Deirdre Conlan BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy

Deirdre (Dee) is an Irish Women’s Health and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who graduated with first class honours in The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2013 with a BSc in Physiotherapy and further sought qualifications in Dry needling and Pilates. Keen to broaden her horizons, she moved to Sydney in 2015 to further gain experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and further sought formal training in the area of Women’s Health. Dee is also a mum to a little girl. Having spent seven years practicing in Sydney, Australia, Dee and her family decided to move to Hawkes Bay at the end of 2022 to live. Dee believes that Women’s Health Physiotherapy can have such a positive impact on the quality of life of women across all life stages. She has a deep understanding of pelvic mechanics and its relationship to core stability and function. Dee can provide physiotherapy management of pelvic floor issues, incontinence, pelvic pain, bladder problems, assist with pelvic floor changes in menopause and pre/postnatal care. She has a special interest in returning postpartum women to exercise. Dee is an experienced pilates instructor to all levels who enjoys the benefits of teaching in very small classes. Dee finds genuine pleasure in helping her patients achieve and exceed their goals. Out of the clinic you will find Dee either running, spending time in the ocean swimming or surfing and spending time with her family and friends.
